The Honoring Birth Co. Mission

My mission is to equip families with the knowledge and tools to confidently navigate any situation or outcome in pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.

As your Doula, I will help you gain a deeper understanding of God’s design for physiological birth. I will also guide you through a decision-making process that examines evidence-based information, considers your provider’s recommendations, and provides a structure for questions to ask that evaluate benefits and risks. I will provide the resources, guidance, and encouragement to give you the confidence to honor your intuition without reservations.

At Honoring Birth Co., we honor the choices of the mother, the intuition and intelligence of the baby, the crucial role of the father, the expertise of your birth provider, and the natural and perfectly designed flow of physiological birth.

I am delighted that you’re here, and I would be honored to support you through this transformation. If you are welcoming your first baby or adding to a growing family, preparing for a homebirth, birth center or hospital birth- you deserve to feel supported, respected, and safe.

The Honoring Birth Co. Impact

  • Having Olivia as my doula was by far the best decision I made for my birthing plan.

I never realized how little I knew about the birthing process. Olivia was a wealth of knowledge and source of calm energy.

As many may tell you, your child’s birth never goes the way you planned it. Mine was no exception. Sparing the details, all I can say is having Olivia before, during, and after my son’s birth was a blessing. Every obstacle was met with a professional and caring approach. She eased my worries, made sure the medical staff knew my concerns, and kept my family calm. Olivia supported me and never left my side.

The only thing I would change about my experience with Olivia is hiring her earlier in my pregnancy. You will not regret your decision to have Olivia as your doula!

  • I’m a first-time mom and I am so grateful to have had Olivia support me leading up to my delivery and with me in the labor room.

    1. Pre-labor Prep: Olivia was meant to be my backup doula, so I had fewer sessions with her but the ones I did have were very helpful. She’s infinitely patient, really takes the trouble to break down and explain technical options, and shares helpful, science-based resources if you want to empower yourself by reading more. She’s also very organized and communicative, which was super important for me.

    2. Customized Support: I had a normal pregnancy and didn’t imagine a scenario where I’d have to be induced, but my due date came and went and my OBGYN told me if baby didn’t come on her own by 41 weeks I would need to go in for an induction. Despite taking childbirth classes and reading up on inductions, I was shocked to discover so late in my pregnancy how little I understood of the actual process. Didn’t know that an induction could take 3 days, for example, and wasn’t as simple as going in and being hooked up to an IV! I messaged Olivia on a weekend when I was super stressed and ten months pregnant, and she still took the trouble to do a long Zoom call with me, give me patient, unbiased counsel and check in with me emotionally as well. It really helped me feel more confident and make a new birth plan.

    3. Delivery Room Experience: I was in labor for seventeen hours and my husband called Olivia to come to the hospital about four hours in. She showed up super quick even though it was 3 am and was such a calm, supportive presence in the room. I was lucky enough to have my family there too, and what impressed me even more was how Olivia offered support when needed and withdrew to the background to give my family the chance to be front and center too. She gave us all so much confidence and we all felt like we could really trust her, especially when faced with making medical decisions throughout the process. She also kept moving me into different positions in the bed which I’m sure really helped, and stayed right till baby arrived and golden hour began.

    4. I should also say that Olivia is a mum of 5 young kids and I have no doubt this has made her remarkably empathetic, patient, organized and a superb multitasker. She came home to check in on me and the baby a week in, and continues to offer support as a mom friend!

Overall, I can’t recommend her highly enough.

We worked with Olivia as our Birth Doula for the birth of our son in April 2024. She is so gentle, kind, and helps you make the decisions that are right for your family. She was VERY responsive and made my husband and I feel calm every step of the way! Thank you Olivia for helping make my birth experience as smooth as possible and helping us make informed decisions along the way!
